Lágrimas no adeus: Swiatek não vai vencer um Slam numa época pela 1.ª vez desde 2021

Iga Swiatek caiu esta segunda-feira nos oitavos de final do US Open em dois sets frente a Qinwen Zheng depois de deixar fugir uma vantagem de 5-0 no primeiro parcial e, no final, abandonou o Arthur Ashe Stadium em lágrimas.

Este desaire veio evidenciar um ano pouco positivo para a antiga número um do mundo, que vai terminar a temporada sem qualquer Grand Slam conquistado, algo que já não acontecia há algum tempo.

Na verdade, desde 2021 que Swiatek não terminava uma época sem um Major no currículo. Em 2022, Swiatek venceu Roland Garros e US Open, em 2023 e 2024 voltou a triunfar em Paris e, em 2025, conquistou Wimbledon de forma inédita.

Este ano, o máximo que conseguiu foram uns quartos de final na Austrália…
