Nove meses depois de se lesionar com gravidade em Wimbledon, Bethanie Mattek Sands está de volta às vitórias. Em pares, variante que lhe tem dado as maiores alegrias da carreira, com títulos do Grand Slam e uma medalha de ouro olímpica na estreia dos pares mistos, no Rio’2016 (com Jack Sock), Mattek venceu a primeira ronda do WTA Premier de Charleston ao lado de Andrea Hlavackova.
Regressada recentemente em Miami, Mattek Sands ainda não venceu qualquer encontro em singulares, mas planeia agora fazer um resto de calendário normal durante os próximos meses.
