Emma Navarro e Diana Shnaider confirmaram o favoritismo e qualificaram-se para os quartos de final do WTA 500 de Adelaide, que serve como ensaio geral para o Australian Open.
Navarro, atualmente no 15.º lugar do ranking mundial, não teve grandes dificuldades para ultrapassar Yulia Putintseva e triunfou com os parciais de 6-1 e 6-4, ao cabo de 1h30 minutos.
