Algumas horas depois de desistir do seu primeiro encontro no ATP Masters 1000 de Madrid, Holger Rune explicou nas redes sociais o motivo pelo qual foi forçado a desistir do torneio: “Infelizmente, torci um pouco o joelho durante o aquecimento e senti-o durante o encontro. Acho que parar foi a melhor solução, embora tivesse muita vontade de continuar a minha boa sequência em Espanha. Vemo-nos para o ano.”
