Rafael Nadal perde três tiebreaks no mesmo encontro pela 1.ª vez na carreira
O tenista espanhol Rafael Nadal foi derrotado, esta quinta-feira, pelo austríaco Dominic Thiem nos quartos de final do Australian Open num encontro que teve um dado inédito na carreira do espanhol.
O maiorquino de 33 anos perdeu os três tiebreaks por 7-6(3), 7-6(4) e 7-6(6) num duelo decidido em quatro sets. Contudo, o mesmo já tinha acontecido a Roger Federer na final do torneio de Wimbledon de 2019 perante o sérvio Novak Djokovic: nessa altura, Federer cedeu por 6-7(5), 6-1, 6-7(4), 6-4 e 13-12(3).
This was the first time Rafael #Nadal had lost three tie-breakers in the same match.
It happened once to Roger Federer as well (in the 2019 Wimbledon final, even though the final tie-breaker came after a 24-game set), and it has never happened to Novak Djokovic.
